Easy DIY Sling Bag: Without a Pattern!

Cutting and Preparing the Pieces

To start, cut out your pieces using interfacing, adhere them to your fabric, and then cut them out for better shapes.

Creating the Back Bucket

1. Fold your denim fabric in half lengthwise and notch the center.
2. Place the zipper teeth facing down on top of the right side of the fabric piece, lining it up with the center and edges.
3. Repeat the same steps for the lining piece, ensuring right sides are together.
4. Sew across the top edge using a 1/4 inch seam allowance with a zipper foot.
5. Pull out the fabrics, finger press, and top stitch across the zipper.
6. Add webbing to the other side of the zipper and sew in place, avoiding the zipper teeth.

Adding the Pocket and Webbing

1. Place the finished pocket on top of the exterior back piece, matching sides and bottom, and then sew around the pocket, webbing, and zipper.
2. Measure and sew the lower strap tab in place on the back section of the bag.

Creating the Strap

2. Join the strap to create a sandwich with the two strap pieces and sew around three sides.
3. Turn it inside out, top stitch if needed, and attach it to the bag.

Final Touches
Fold your back panel in half to find the center and attach the strap section to complete the back section of the sling bag.
