As a beginner bag maker, one of the easiest bags to execute is a Clutch Purse or depending on its size a Zipper Pouch.
The clutch purse is a very versatile bag, it can be made from any type of fabric you like.
Example for an evening bag you can use a beautiful printed Satin, velvet, leather/faux leather etc.
For an everyday bag use quilting cotton (which is my favourite material to sew with), Home decor fabric, wool or denim.
If for some reason your bag needs to be waterproof, use oilcloth or vinyl.
The size of this bag can be small to oversize to fit even a laptop. It all depends on your needs.
Basic Materials for a clutch purse:
2 Exterior pieces of fabric
2 Lining pieces of fabric
2 Interfacing for exterior pieces
1 Zipper
