To make a two-tone fold-over clutch purse, you will need the following materials:
- 1/2 yard of fabric for the exterior (color 1)
- 1/2 yard of fabric for the lining (color 2)
- 1/2 yard of fusible interfacing
- 8" zipper
- Magnetic snap closure
- Sewing machine
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing needle
- Sewing clips
Instructions:
- Wash and dry your fabric.
- Cut two pieces of fabric for the exterior of the purse, measuring 12 inches by 18 inches each.
- Cut one piece of fabric for the lining of the purse, measuring 12 inches by 18 inches.
- Fuse the interfacing to the back of the exterior fabric pieces.
- Place the two exterior fabric pieces right sides together and sew along the long edges, leaving a 4-inch opening at the bottom.
- Trim the corners and clip the curves.
- Turn the purse right side out and press flat.
- Sew the opening at the bottom of the purse closed.
- Place the lining fabric right side down on the purse, matching the seams.
- Sew the lining to the purse along the top edge, leaving a 4-inch opening at the back.
- Trim the corners and clip the curves.
- Turn the purse inside out and sew the opening in the lining closed.
- Press the purse flat.
- Sew the zipper to the top edge of the purse, using a zipper foot.
- Sew the magnetic snap closure to the front of the purse, following the manufacturer's instructions.
